This screen provides a gateway to the various tables that
XS Portfolio
uses. Simply highlight the desired area that you wish to modify and
press the Action key, then refer
to the Managing your stocks/markets/sectors or currencies section.
Managing your stocks
The sorting of this list may be changed by selecting the columns'
number.
To add a new stock simply select New from the
soft-key MENU and then:
1. Select the symbol edit field and enter the symbol. This
symbol mustn’t include suffixes, for example VOD.L (Vodafone - London)
must be entered as VOD.
If the stock symbol is unknown then select Add Package or Symbol
Lookup from the soft-key MENU and then refer to Add Package or Stock Symbol Lookup.
2. Select the description edit field and enter a description, if required.
If this field is blank then XS Portfolio will automatically obtain the
description when the stock prices are updated from the Internet.
3. Select the sector from the sector list. Should the sector not
exist then select Add Sector from the soft-key MENU and follow the steps in the Managing
your sectors for adding a sector.
4. Select the market from the market list. Should the market not
exist then select Add Market from the soft-key MENU and follow the steps in the Managing
your markets for adding a market.
5. Select the Add Suffix and select whether the symbol specified needs a
suffix. Most of the time this is true and the main exception seems to be
indices.
6. Select the Create soft-key to confirm your changes or
Cancel to
discard them.
To Edit an existing stock
Highlight the stock line then select Edit from the soft-key
MENU and then follow the
steps for adding a stock or the following to add dividends or split a
stock.
Dividends
1. Select the amount field and enter the dividend amount.
2. Select the date field and enter a date, if desired.
3. Select the description field and enter a description if required. This
description will be added to the trading screen.
To Delete an existing stock
Highlight the stock line then select Delete from the soft-key
MENU and provide confirmation when prompted. Please note that you will
not be able to delete a stock that is in use.

Stock Packages
Stock packages are a collection of stocks for a particular
market / index etc..
Adding a stock package for the first time:
Please use the menu option Refresh
to download the latest packages from the xcite server. Note: This
list will also be updated on occasions so please use
Refresh to keep your package list
up-to-date. Note: Please email
support@xcitesoftware.com
if you would like a package for a particular index.
Choosing which package to install:
Simply scroll thru' the list and select Add
Package to install the package from the xcite server.
The number in the quantity column is the approximate number of stocks
that will be added, plus if a stock already exists on your device then
it will not be overwritten. |

Stock Symbol Lookup
To obtain the symbol for a particular stock, select the name
edit field and enter any part of the stock name (e.g. VOD for VODAFONE) then
select Lookup from the soft-key MENU to perform an Internet lookup.
Once you have located the desired stock select the line in the list and
then press the Action key or the SELECT soft-key to automatically fill the symbol name,
description and suffix fields on the previous screen.
Please note: The server used to obtain the stocks limits the
number of stocks shown in the list to a maximum of 50.

Managing your markets
To add a new market simply select the Add
soft-key and then:
1. Select the suffix edit field and enter the suffix.
2. Select the name edit field and enter a name
3. Select the currency from the list
4. Select the currency unit edit field and enter the amount of unit that
the market uses. For example the UK markets are specified in pence so
this currency unit must be 100 in order to convert the prices to pounds.
5. Select the hours fields and enter the market hours (specified in local
time).
6. Select the country list and select the market location.
To enter the market costs, select 'Market
Costs' from the soft-key MENU and then:
7. Select the Market costs - Purchase Fixed edit field and enter any fixed
trading costs for purchasing stocks.
8. Select the Market costs - Purchase Percentage edit field and enter any
percentage trading costs for purchasing stocks.
9. Select the Market costs - Sell Fixed edit field and enter any fixed
trading costs for selling stocks.
10. Select the Market costs - Sell Percentage edit field and enter any
percentage trading costs for selling stocks.
11. Select the Back soft-key and then the Create
soft-key to confirm your changes or Cancel to
discard them.
To Edit an existing market
Select the market line then Edit from the soft-key
MENU and then follow
the steps for adding a market.
To delete an existing market
Select the market line then Delete from the soft-key
MENU and then
provide confirmation when requested. |

Managing your sectors
To add a new sector simply select Add from the
soft-key and then:
1. Select the name edit field and enter a name
2. Select the description edit field and enter a description
3. Select the Create soft-key to confirm your changes or
Cancel to
discard them.
To Edit an existing sector
Select the sector line then Edit from the soft-key
MENU and then follow
the steps for adding a sector .
To delete an existing sector
Select the sector line then Delete from the soft-key
MENU and
provide confirmation when requested.

Managing your currencies
To add a new currency simply select Add from
the soft-key
and then:
1. Select the name edit field and enter a name
2. Select the description edit field and enter a description
3. Select the decimal places field and enter the number of decimal places
that the currency uses.
4. Select the Create soft-key to confirm your changes or
Cancel to
discard them.
To Edit an existing currency
Select the currency line then Edit from the soft-key
MENU and then
follow the steps for adding a sector .
To delete an existing currency
Select the currency line then Delete from the soft-key
MENU and then
provide confirmation when requested.
